What Does a Complete Bubble CPAP Set Include? The 9-Line Configuration Hospitals Quote

The 9-line configuration hospitals quote for bubble CPAP - humidifier, blender, stand, delivery circuits, nasal interface kit, prongs, masks, generator and oxygen analyzer - explained.

Pigeon AD-I bubble CPAP system with bubble generator and humidifier
When a hospital or distributor requests bubble CPAP, the quotation that comes back is never one line - it is a configured set of nine lines, each a real box in the shipment. Buyers who understand those lines compare offers faster, catch incomplete configurations before they order, and know which lines are one-time equipment versus recurring consumables. Here is the full configuration, based on the sets Pigeon Medical quotes hospitals, distributors and tender projects.

Lines 1-2: the humidifier and the air-oxygen blender

The first two lines are the heart of the system. The heated humidifier (for example our FC850: heating base, humidification chamber, dual connection kit and temperature sensor) warms and moistens the gas - dry gas damages infant airways. The air-oxygen blender (SPA/B) mixes medical air and oxygen to any FiO2 from 21% to 100%, and ships with its mounting bracket, gas supply lines, an O2 flow meter and an inhaler cup. Check both lines carefully: the blender must state its FiO2 accuracy (plus or minus 3 percent on the AD3000 family), and the humidifier must match your circuits.

Line 3: the mobile pole stand

A mobile pole stand with an IV pole or arm carries the whole assembly and rolls on casters between beds. Confirm the stand includes the mounting brackets for the humidifier and flow meter - on some quotations these are separate lines, which changes the comparison.

Line 4: disposable heated-wire breathing circuits

The infant delivery system - disposable heated-wire breathing circuits - is the first recurring consumable on the list. Circuits connect the humidifier to the bubble generator and the patient interface, and they are replaced on your infection-control schedule. Ask how many circuits per set the quotation includes and what reorders cost.

Lines 5-6: the nasal interface kit and nasal prongs

The nasal interface kit contains the universal 70 mm nasal tubing, bonnets in two sizes (29-36 cm and 36-46 cm), a sizing guide and connectors. The prong lines follow: nasal prongs in graduated sizes - #3520 (3.5/2.0 mm), #4540 (4.5/4.0 mm) and #5550 (5.5/5.0 mm) in our configuration - so every baby from preterm to term is covered. Prongs are sized to the baby's nostrils with a sizing guide; a set that includes only one prong size is incomplete.

Line 7: CPAP masks in small, medium and large

Masks back up the prongs for babies who cannot tolerate nasal interfaces or need short-term support. A complete set includes small, medium and large masks - one of each per set is the common quotation.

Lines 8-9: the bubble generator and the oxygen analyzer

The bubble generator - a shatter-resistant polycarbonate chamber where CPAP pressure is set by water column depth from 3 to 10 cmH2O - is the namesake of the therapy. The oxygen analyzer (model IA: 0-100% measurement, 0.1% resolution, with an inline sensor) verifies the delivered oxygen at the patient side. Generator and analyzer are both reusable equipment; treat them as part of the capital line.

Equipment lines versus consumable lines

Lines 1-3 and 8-9 are reusable capital equipment with a service life measured in years. Lines 4-7 are recurring consumables - circuits, prongs, masks and bonnets that follow your infection-control schedule. This split matters twice: for the hospital's budget (capital once, consumables forever), and for distributors (the consumable lines are the recurring revenue that follows every installed set).

How tenders list the same set

Ministry and hospital tenders usually compress this configuration into one line - 'Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Bubble set' - and sometimes split the blender out as a separate 'Air / O2 mixer' line item. When you match a quotation to such a tender, map the lines back one to one and confirm nothing is missing: a set quoted without the blender, the analyzer or the full prong range is not an equivalent offer.

Frequently asked questions

Can you quote against a configuration list we already have?

Yes - send us the configuration list and quantity, and we return a line-by-line equivalent quotation: same structure, same functions, full documentation pack (FSC, NMPA registrations, ISO 13485 certificate, authorization letter).

How fast can a 5-set configuration ship?

Configured sets ship from stock in about 3-7 days after payment (FCA or as agreed), and MOQ is 1 set for trial orders. Larger hospital-supply volumes of 30-100 sets ship in about 15 days.
